First things first - tell us a little about yourself!

Hi I’m Brendan and I am the Chief Financial Officer here at Bar2.

After graduating from Reading University with an Accounting and Finance degree, I made the leap into the world of work and joined the team in 2018 as an Accounts Assistant.

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, travelling, and occasionally heading into Central London for a drink or two.

What does your new role involve as Chief Financial Officer?

Stepping into the CFO role, I’ll be driving financial performance, growth, and compliance, all while aligning our strategic priorities and nurturing strong relationships with our partners.

What excites you the most about stepping into this role at this particular moment in the company's growth?

We’re in a really exciting phase in terms of change and ambitious thinking. Being a part of shaping that next chapter and ensuring it translates into something measurable and meaningful is something I’m super excited for!

I’m also particularly interested in how we can use data to better understand where we create the most value, both for our clients and business. It’s not just about tracking the numbers, but using financial insights to drive smarter, more strategic decisions across the business.

Why Bar2?

The thing that stands out for me is Bar2’s ability to constantly evolve and adapt not only as a business, but also as a team. Regular legislative changes and the fast-paced nature of our operations present consistent challenges for our industry, so working for a business that is on-the-ball, quick and confident to make changes is an exciting place to be.

Besides this, it has to be the people! There’s a real sense of energy, purpose and teamwork here — we support each other, challenge each other, and learn from each other.

So far, what has been your biggest achievement at Bar2?

My biggest achievement so far has to be my promotion from Head of Payroll to Chief Financial Officer.

After beginning my journey at Bar2 in 2018 as an Accounts Assistant, it’s super nice being able to look back on my growth and development over the past seven years!

What's something you've learned during your time at Bar2 that you'll carry forward as Chief Financial Officer?

That clarity and communication are just as important as technical skills. You can have the best insights in the world, but they only create impact if people understand them, or why it matters!
