We’re making a behind-the-scenes switch from Bar 2064 to Bar2 Contracting - but don’t worry, there’s nothing you need to do 🙌  Your pay, benefits, and day-to-day experience will all stay the same. We've put together this handy FAQ to walk you through everything (with zero corporate waffle). If you’ve got a question, chances are it’s answered below! 👇

General

In short, nothing changes for you day-to-day. You will now be engaged under a new company, Bar2 Contracting Limited, but your role, pay, benefits, and all other terms of employment will remain exactly the same as before.

No, there will be no impact on your employment benefits or entitlements as a result of the transfer. Any accrued but unpaid holiday pay from Bar 2064 will be carried over to Bar2 Contracting. If you are enrolled in the pension scheme (NEST), your enrolment will remain in place with no changes, and your auto-enrolment postponement date will stay the same. All existing entitlements will continue seamlessly under the new company.

During the transition

No action is required from you. All relevant details will be securely transferred. If anything is needed from you in the future, we’ll let you know with clear instructions.

No. Your employment will continue without any interruption. Your start date, length of service, and contract terms will all remain unchanged under Bar2 Contracting.

No, you won’t need to sign a new contract. Your existing terms and conditions of employment will remain the same and will automatically transfer to Bar2 Contracting.

You’ve received a P45 because, from a payroll perspective, your employment has ended with Bar 2064 and will be transferred to Bar2 Contracting. This is a standard part of the transfer and doesn’t mean you’re leaving your role or the company. Your employment continues seamlessly with no break in service, no change to your job, and no change to your terms and conditions. The P45 simply reflects the end of your employment with Bar 2064 for HMRC purposes and the start of your employment with Bar2 Contracting.

Data security is a top priority. Our payroll provider MDA follow strict data protection protocols and are fully compliant with GDPR. Only authorised people have access to your data, and rigorous checks are in place to ensure accuracy and confidentiality throughout the process.

Expenses

Your login details will remain the same; however, on Saturday 26th April, your account will be linked to the new company (Bar2 Contracting). Please note: Do not submit any expenses between 6pm on Friday 25th April and 12pm on Monday 28th April due to the transition process.

Any balance of leftover expenses from this tax year will be moved into your new Bar2 Contracting account.Any outstanding mileage balance will also be transferred across. Please note that from 6th April, a new mileage allowance began as the new tax year started. If you have any outstanding expenses from the previous tax year you'd like to claim through a P87, we can provide a detailed report with a full breakdown upon request. Just reach out to the team, and we’ll be happy to assist.

You won’t be able to see your historical expense data in the app because those claims were processed under Bar 2064, which has now been closed. The expenses system is now linked to Bar2 Contracting. If you need a record of your previous expenses, for example, to support a P87 tax claim, we can provide a breakdown upon request. Just contact the team and we’ll be happy to help.

After the transition

Yes, absolutely. Even after the transfer, you’ll continue to receive full support for any issues related to your final payment from Bar 2064. The same support teams will be available and have access to all relevant historical data.

No, your continuous service will remain intact. Your length of service will carry over exactly as it was under Bar 2064, with no break in employment.

Your pay schedule, rate, and method of payment will all remain the same. The transition is being carefully managed to ensure a smooth transition with no disruption to your usual payment cycle. If any issues do arise, our payroll team will be on hand to resolve them quickly.

No, your pay rate will remain exactly the same. The transfer does not affect your agreed terms and conditions, including pay.

Your tax code should remain the same. However, if HMRC issues any updates after the transition, we will apply them accordingly and notify you if needed.

Your pension status will transfer over to Bar2 Contracting with no interruption. Here's what that means for you: • If you’re already enrolled, your contributions will continue as normal without any disruption. • If you’re currently postponed, your original postponement date will carry over. • If you haven’t joined yet, you’ll continue to be assessed each time you’re paid, as per the usual process. • If you opted out or your contributions have stopped, you will be re-enrolled after the postponement period, if eligible. You will once again have the option to opt out if you choose. • Your contribution rates will stay exactly the same.

No, there will be no changes. You should continue to submit your timesheets/hours using the current process as normal.

No changes here. Payslips and your P45 will be issued via the usual platform or email, just under Bar2 Contracting instead of Bar 2064.

The transition is part of a broader move to streamline operations and improve the services we provide. While your day-to-day experience will remain consistent, the new setup allows us to operate with greater efficiency and flexibility. Over time, this will lead to faster processing times, more responsive support, and the ability to roll out improvements more effectively. Ultimately, it positions us to better support you and continue enhancing your experience.

You can continue to contact the same support team. If any contact details change, we’ll notify you in advance.
