First things first - tell us a little about yourself!
I grew up in the West-country and Somerset is still home for me (where the cider apples grow!). I’m married to my childhood sweetheart and we have two boys and a lovely little cockapoo.
Professionally, my background is financial services. I worked in business banking for a number of years before finally making the move across to payroll in 2010, where I began as part of the management team who contributed towards the business achieving Fast Track 100 and Fastest Growing Company in the South West! This was a truly incredible journey and I learned so much from my time there.
How have you been making the most of lockdown?
Lockdown has been a great opportunity for me to spend more time on myself…something I never had the time to do before! As a result, I feel fitter and healthier than ever before after taking up a new hobby – road biking!
I am hooked but a little poorer for it! I can hear the groans from the drivers out there who do not like us bikers very much…don’t worry what with the weather change we will all be indoors on Zwift soon!
So why Bar2?
Working alongside a new, young board of directors, I saw the opportunity to help bring about a fresh, dynamic and collaborative partnership with our clients. I want to utilise my broad network and experiences to assist Bar2 in achieving their company growth goals.
And what are you most looking forward about taking on the BDM position?
I am super excited to be working in the BDM position with Bar2! I love that creating genuine partnerships with our clients is at the forefront of how we do business; thriving to offer ‘above and beyond’ experiences. My background in financial services aligns closely with this approach, where gaining a thorough understanding of a customer’s aspirations is key in delivering a bespoke service.
What do you see as the biggest challenges in this job?
Being in the midst of a pandemic will definitely bring its challenges. It's even more crucial now that we are a consultative partner to clients; working alongside them to identify pain points and using a solution driven approach when considering what option is right for them.
Where are we most likely to find you on a weekend?
At the coast in our campervan, on the side of a rugby pitch cheering our son on, or on a bike ride in the beautiful Somerset countryside with my husband drinking an espresso martini!
